The Annual Awards Banquet was
held on August 17, 2010 at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Warsaw. It was
a wonderful evening. The meal which was catered by Our Father's
House was delicious. Awards were presented to the participants of
the Walking group. Robert Svinarich took the top award in most miles
walked. Area 5 leader Cinda Milan from Logansport was the guest
speaker. She pointed out that the most important thing about Special
Olympics is to have fun. She complimented Kosciusko County for their
numerous athletes (about 100) and great participation in so many sports.
Thanks were given to Becky
Walls for her many hours of leadership as county coordinator.
Nominations for persons of the year for Kosciusko County were: Volunteer
of the Year - Dave Miller, Coach of the Year - Joe Barannowski
-Athlete of the Year - Amy Philson, and Family of the Year - Terry, Marti
and Beth Ann Thompson. There were then door prizes given out to close out
the evening. Everyone had a great time.
